Acceptable Use Agreement (AUA)

Written agreement, signed by students, their parents, and teachers, outlining the terms and conditions of Internet use. It specifically sets out acceptable uses, rules of online behavior, and access privileges. Also covered are penalties for violations of the policy, including security violations and vandalism of the system. Anyone using a school's Internet connection are required to sign the AUA and know that it will be kept on file as a legal, binding agreement.

Web-based software training and curriculum resources for more than 110 computer applications students and educators use every day. Atomic Learning provides thousands of short, easy-to-understand tutorial movies and a library of curriculum resources that can be used for professional development, as a curriculum supplement, and/or an anytime/anywhere software training resource.
Avatar
Pomona Unified School District's web-based professional development registration and management center. Through Avatar, you will be able to browse and register for district professional development activities, access your training and credential records, and view information and materials for trainings and teacher certification.
Blackboard (Bb)
Web-based course management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online, or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes and academic resources and more.
Board Document Manager (BoardDocs)
Our organization is leveraging the Internet to enhance governance and provide a basis for better communication with the public. The new eGovernance initiative will replace the old method of compiling, printing, binding and distributing a limited number of paper meeting documents with electronic distribution.

Accelerated Reader (AR) - Build a lifelong love of reading and learning through reading comprehension. Accelerated Reader provides personalized reading practice to each student's current level, allows teachers to manage all reading activities including read to, read with, and independent reading, and assesses students' reading with four types of quizzes: reading practice, vocabulary practice, literacy skills and textbook quizzes.

Groiler Online - Age appropriate research and learning resource, with two learning environments, eight curriculum-aligned databases, and over 500,000 links to academically relevant articles, web sites and periodicals.

Measuring Up e-Path (Secondary CAHSEE Support) - State-specific instructional and assessment materials, print and Internet-based, customized to state learning standards. These materials teach and support the state standards as well as prepare students for the rigorous state assessments. The Internet-based component provides customized formative assessments that offer a personal prescriptive path for every student.

Pro-Quest e-Library - With an all in one easy search feature, this resource offers access to numerous multidisciplinary databases that provide access to millions of articles, through nearly 9,400 publications, of which more than half provide full text articles.

Read 180 (Secondary) - An intensive reading intervention program that helps educators confront the problem of adolescent illiteracy and special needs reading on multiple fronts, using technology, print, and professional development. READ 180 is proven to meet the needs of struggling readers whose reading achievement is below proficient level. The program directly addresses individual needs through differentiated instruction, adaptive and instructional software, high-interest literature, and direct instruction in reading, writing, and vocabulary skills.

Reading Counts - Is a reading system that allows students to select an appropriate book based on their own Lexile levels and interests. Once a student has finished reading the book teachers can test their students' comprehension, and then generate up-to-the minute, data-driven reports to help inform the teacher when a student is struggling and when the student needs intervention and differentiated instruction.

PUSD Outlook Web Mail
Used to access e-mail, calendars, contacts, tasks, and other mailbox content when access to the Microsoft Outlook desktop application is unavailable.

Used by schools to get parent permission for Pomona Unified School District to photograph and /or videotape a student, and then use the photographs and /or videos for educational presentations, newsletters, brochures, news releases, publicity and telecommunications

RxNet
An administrative application that manages and relates student assessment information from the STAR, CELDT, CAHSEE, DWA’s, API and AYP to instructional activities individualized to the classroom and student level as well as linking relevant student information to parents. Staff can review school and student performance achievement information. RxNet Writer
Software program designed to score students writing for each of the six characteristics (addresses the task, purpose and audience, focus and organization, content, sentence and word variety, conventions). It will help improve the Fluency, Accuracy, and Complexity of students writing. As a student goes through the program, it will give the student many suggestions to improve and raise the level of their writing. The student’s scores are displayed in a bar graph with a bar for each characteristic. The color of the bar shows the score as advanced, proficient, basic, below basic, or far below basic.

Smarte Finance
Integrated financial solution designed to meet the needs of the school district by making the accounting system quick and easy for users while operating near paperless. It provides users with access to needed information on a daily basis, which includes modules for General Ledger, Budgeting, Requisitions and Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Administration.
Special Education system (SEIS)
The Special Education Information System (SEIS) was initially created by CEDR and the San Joaquin SELPA, to make IEPs easier for teachers to complete and track. Gradually, additional functions were added, including an MIS (CASEMIS) utility, the SEACO, BASICS, CSHA, ROPES, AuSpLan, and ACSA/CARS+ standards-based goals bank, and report generator utilities, and DRDP data collection and reporting among others.
Sub-Finder (Internal)
Substitute employee management system that allows administration to check on daily absences on their campus from any computer with an Internet connection. They can check on the progress of filling vacancies, can create, and edit absences, and generate any of a long list of absence reports for their campus.
Substitute Evaluation Forms
Personnel services substitute evaluation system that allows administration to evaluate a substitute that has worked on their campus.
Zangle TeacherConnection with Gradebook (SIS)
A web-based application that allows schools to communicate with parents, manage student data, and perform student and school accountability reporting. Zangle Connection provides parents, students, teachers, special education case managers, health professionals, and administrative staff, secure, real-time Internet access to student information. Teachers have the ability to enter classroom news, attendance data, gradebook data (secondary), and student class marks directly to the Zangle database over the Internet or district intranet. (Note: Gradebook can be accessed from outside the district via the Internet while TeacherConnect is only available via the district intranet)
