Attendance |
The importance of regular attendance cannot be over-emphasized. Be sure your child attends school each day. A child should be in school every day that he/she is physically able. It is extremely difficult to successfully keep up with class work if attendance is irregular. If a student is repeatedly absent or tardy without proper cause, a District Pupil Personnel official will be notified. Special recognition and rewards are given to children by grading period and at the end of the year for perfect attendance. Students are to be at school by the time the bell rings at 8:05 a.m. (7:55 for morning Kinder). A tardy student disrupts the entire classroom environment. If a student is habitually tardy, our School Attendance Review Team (SART) and District Pupil Personnel official will be notified and disciplinary steps taken. The only legitimate excuse for late arrival at school is a notice from a doctor's office. Arrival Time Dismissal Time Late Pick-Up We are required by law to account for all absences. If your child is going to be absent from school, please call the office at 909-397-4900 x 2300 and speak with Vanessa Torrero or Najah Cage. If a child does not arrive at school, we want to be sure he/she is safe with you. We will call daily and/or send the attendance aide on prolonged absences or suspected truancy. Upon returning from a period of absence, a child must bring a note to his/her teacher stating: Breakfast is served from 7:05 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. Friday breakfast will be 8:05 a.m. - 9:05 a.m. Hot lunches are served daily in the school cafeteria starting the first day of school. Morning kindergarteners are served breakfast only and P.M. kinders are served lunch only. The fastest way to get a free or reduced lunch application approved is to go directly to the Indian Hill Village. Lunches cannot be delivered to the child or office during the school day. All lunch arrangements should be made prior to the school day for children not on the free lunch program. Children who are buying lunch need to order it in the cafeteria when they come to school. Menus are sent home each month. |
