Frequently asked questions

Paint Shop

I would like to have my office or classroom painted. I was at a hardware store and picked a color I would like to have painted. How do I go about having this project done?

You need to submit a work request to the M&O Office indicating the work you need done. As for the paint and color choice, the district has an approved color pallet from a paint manufacture that you can select from. Upon your request, we will bring you the approved color pallet to choose the paint color.

The lines on the asphalt playground have really faded and I would like to have them re-painted. Can I submit a work request for this?

Yes. The paint shop is set-up to do that type of work.

We called to have graffiti removed from our site this morning. The graffiti removal painter removed some, but not all of it. Will he be back?

Depending on what type of surface the graffiti is on determines

which trade removes the graffiti.  If  painters were on your site this morning, they will only remove or paint over graffiti that is on a painted surface, signs, poles, etc. Another trade that uses a high-pressure water sprayer will remove graffiti that is on non-painted surfaces, such as brick, block or concrete.

I have a classroom that the walls are dirty and in need of being painted. What steps do I need to take to have this done?

Submit a work request and the paint shop will contact you regarding access to the room.  The normal procedure is that the teacher and students use another room for approximately two days while the painting is being done.  The teacher is responsible for removing all of the items from the walls and personal items from shelves and desks.   The painters are responsible for moving cabinets, bookshelves, etc. from along the walls.

I have a parking problem and would like to have the parking rearranged in the parking lot so more vehicles can park. Can the paint shop re-paint the new lines?

Even though the paint shop is set-up to paint lines, Traffic Engineers must first access the parking lot for parking regulations and specifications for added spaces.

I would like to have all the exterior doors on my campus re-painted. Can I send my custodian to the paint shop to pick-up the paint and supplies needed to do this?

As per CSEA regulations, this is not allowed.  Custodians are limited to the amount of painting they can perform. Submit a work request and the job will be reviewed and prioritize.
