California Scholarship Federation (CSF)

Purpose: The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) emphasizes high standards of scholarship, citizenship, community service, and tutoring.

Regular Meetings: Once every month (Please look for flyers around the school and listen for announcements; CSF will also be sending out emails to our members this year.) General body meetings will be conducted during both 1st and 2nd lunch.

Activities and Events:

- Annual CSF/NHS Induction Ceremony (Tuesday, October 9th, 2012)

- Regular Tutoring (Everyday in designated classrooms [morning and afterschool], except for Fridays. See Ms. Rodriguez in B213 for any questions and/or additional information.)

- CSF/NHS Banquet (Thursday, May 16th, 2013)

Membership Applications & Instructions

Applications must be completed and turned in within the first four weeks of each semester. Any application turned in after the deadline will not be accepted. Additionally, any incomplete applications will also not be accepted (this includes, but is not limited to, not writing in blue or black ink and calculating your grade points incorrectly.)

ALL members must complete the CSF All Member Application Form (use "CSF Lists 2012-2013" to help you), a constitution page, and submit a copy of last semester's grades.

Any application that is not complete (including the application, the constitution page, and last semester's grades) will not be accepted and students will not be admitted for active membership for the semester.

 

The CSF and NHS Banquet is on Thursday, May 16th in the cafeteria from 5:00-7:00. The theme is Back to the Past, we will be bringing back all the nifty things from our childhood. :) We hope that you can come join us for an evening of food, fun, and games.

Freshmen to Junior hours are due on Friday, May 17th.

Tutoring Information

  • Please read the tutoring handout(s) carefully. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Rodriguez in B213. Any incomplete or incorrectly filled out forms will not be accepted.
  • Please fill out the Tutee Request Form and turn it in to Ms. Rodriguez. This will allow us to help you find a tutee.
  • If you need help in a subject and you are looking for a tutor, please fill out the Tutor Request Form and turn it in to Ms. Rodriguez. This will allow us to help you find a tutor.
  • ** Math Club tutoring, meaning the day in which a CSF/NHS council member will be present to sign off on hours, will be ONLY on Thursdays afterschool. If there is not a council member present in order to sign you in and sign you out, your hours will NOT count!
  • Any problems or confusions you may have must be discussed with a CSF council member first. If not resolved, we will consult you to Ms. Rodriguez.
