Fees: Some classes require fees for registration per semester, books, etc. and are payable at time of registration. Cash, checks, Visa & Mastercard are accepted for some courses.
Returned checks: A $10 fee will be assessed for checks returned due to insufficient funds.
Refunds: A Request for Refund form must be submitted no later than five working days after the start of classes. Refunds for books and/or supplies may be granted only if they aren't damaged or used. Refunds for community classes are not granted. Refunds are made by check only. Please allow four weeks for processing. A 10% charge will be assessed on all refunds unless a class is canceled by the Adult School. NO REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. No refunds for the GED Test.
Financial Aid: Applications may be obtained in AP2. To qualify, students must be enrolled in a qualified vocational class. Assistance is available for filling out the application Wednesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m. Call 469-2333 x316 for more information.
Deferred Payment Plan: To qualify, students must be receiving financial assistance, WIA or vocational rehabilitation. Call 469-2333 x307 for more information.
Children on Campus: Children under 18 years of age, except for concurrently enrolled high shcool students, are not permitted to attend classes except in the Parent Child Participation Program or where child care is provided. This policy also applies in the assessment center.
Insurance: The Adult School does not provide accident insurance for the students or their children.
Harassment Policy - Verbal & Physical/Sexual & Non-Sexual: The district considers harassment a major offense that may result in disciplinary action and/or dismissal of the offending employee and/or suspension and/or expulsion of the offending student. Call 469-2333 x305 to report an incident.
California Education Code: The code specifies the duties of the students to conform to school regulations, obey directions, be diligent in study, respectful to teachers and others in authority, and to refrain from using vulgar and profane language.
No Smoking Policy: The district has a policy that prohibits the use of tobacco on school property that is owned, leased or rented, and in all school vehicles.
Uniform Complaint Procedures: The district has established procedures to resolve alleged violations of state and federal laws pertaining to state and federally funded programs. These procedures require the complaintant to submit a written complaint. Legal resources are available. Call 469-2333 x301.
