Dear Pantera Patriots,

We recently celebrated our 100th day at school and it made me realize how fast a school year can go.  First of all, we want to thank all the families for such a great year so far.  We are a small school but we are doing some astounding things to enhance and to enrich our children’s learning experiences.  We could not have done any thing without the continual support from our families, staff members, teachers, principal and school district.  Thank you for being a part of Pantera and making it an amazing place to be.

From our recent fundraising events:

Community Fundraisers, proceeds that are divided and given to each grade level evenly.

  • Tip the Teachers at Chilis $812.00
  • Jamba juice is a little over $125.00 (Aug-Oct)

Jamba Juice comes on the campus the first Friday of every month.  The next restaurant event is at CPK Chino Hills on 3/21, the same day as Principal awards.

PTO Fundraisers, proceeds that are designated by approved budget.

  • Fresh and Easy Shop for Schools ~ $875.00.  The winning classroom that turned in the most Fresh and Easy receipts is Room #7, Ms. Jones.  Congratulations!  They will look forward to an ice-cream party.
  • Ewaste $609.00.

Open House and Silent Auction is May 18th.  Please consider in donating items to the classroom theme baskets.

Thank you for all who participated and contributed to these fun events.

Upcoming events and information:

This will most likely be the majority of the PTO board members and committee members last year serving in the positions they are currently holding.  Therefore we are looking for new members to fill some important and key roles.  If you would like to renew or like to be nominated please let Janice Lim know.  The description of the positions are posted on the PTO bulletin board in the office or if you would like a copy of the list just email your request to RSLJAL@aol.com.  The current Board Members are committed to our school and will help the next administration to be successful in all PTO endeavors.

We appreciate the board members; Lisa Westrick (Vice President), Vivian Lu (Treasurer), Kristin Saunders (Secretary) and Teresa Gelfand (Co-Secretary) for their hardwork and integrity in leading our school.  Their efforts and selfless act of volunteering would forever be remembered.

Mr. Riffell and the PTO have been working together in getting new computers for our lab and computers in the classrooms.  We are currently working with Apple representatives and the school district in getting updated technology this year.

If you have not already, please look into some really great afterschool programs at our school.

E3 (818-989-7509) enrichment programs for K to 6th grade is starting with new, fun and exciting curriculum.

“My kids are enrolled in the 1 day/week for $60 a month (amounts to approximately $5 per hour).  They are learning a skill that applies math and sciences in a fun and collaborative setting.  Not only do they learn something new, but also all their homework is done when I pick them up!  Both Ms. Karri and Ms. Sophia are amazing and caring instructors.”
