Educational Services
Early Head Start - Provides home-based intervention from pregnancy up through three years of age for low-income families.
Head Start - Provides educational programs for children three and four-years old and their families at 23 locations throughout the district.
School Readiness Initiative - Provides home-based intervention from pregnancy up through three years of age for families in ten school neighborhoods, as well as pre-kindergarten activities for four-year olds.
State Preschool - Provides free preschool programs for low-income families at 26 locations throughout the district.
Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) - Provides educational programs for four-year olds and their families without regard to family income or size.
Child Care Programs (Children's Center) -
Before and After School - Provides before and after school programs coordinated with each child's curriculum, including help with homework.
Child Care Programs (Children's Center) - Full-day/Full-Year - Provides full-day full-year preschool day services for three and four year old children from low-income families.

Alternative Payment - Helps pay for child care services for parents who are employed, attending school or job training, or engaged in other approved activities.

CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) - Helps pay for child care services for parents transitioning from welfare to work and self-sufficiency.
Provider Services
Resource and Referral - Helps parents find licensed child care providers and assists those providers with resources, training, licensing, and technical assistance.
Provider Training - Provides training classes and technical support to child care providers. In addition, assists providers with training toward qualifying for a Child Care License.
Bill Ewing Provider Services Resource Center Toy and Book Lending Library - Lends toys, books, videos, and audio tapes to licensed family day care provider and child care centers for up to one month at no charge.
