Los Angeles Universal Preschool

Goals
To provide a high-quality, voluntary preschool program to four-year old children in Los Angeles County. The LAUP Program will provide the concepts and skills necessary for a successful transition into kindergarten.

Services and Organization
Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) is a new non-profit organization created in 2004. LAUP classes strive to enhance early literacy, language and numeracy experiences to children served at various sites.

LAUP Program encourages parent participation in the classroom, at the parent meetings and at the Parent Advisory Committee meetings; and provides students with Houghton Mifflin Pre-K Curriculum.

Serves 312 children. LAUP funding comes from First 5 LA, the commission established by Proposition 10.
