New Year Init |
Hello fellow Zanglers! – Please read this important announcement regarding your Zangle:
OUTAGE
On February 18th, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. the Zangle Student Information System (FrontOffice and ZangleConnect) will be unavailable as we begin the New Year Initialization process. The system will be available again before Monday (Washington Day) at midnight.
What’s Changed?
ITS has received permission to conduct the rollover in mid February from this point forward in efforts to provide the sites with additional time to complete their master schedules.
New Year Initialization
This process creates the future tracks, copies the master schedule, and creates future enrollment records. You can access this information from the current year by clicking on the rainbow button on any Zangle FrontOffice screen’s banner. You can also access these students from any Zangle report by selecting the “Enrollment” of “Future Students” under the “Select” tab. Kindergarteners can also be pre-enrolled into the future track from the current year.
Important Note
Please be aware that any projected student enrollment counts are subjected to change based on student mobility caused by lottery choices and student mobility.
Office Managers and Registrars – Enrollment Changes
Keeping future enrollment accurate will save everyone time at the beginning of the school year, when we need it the most. Please be mindful of future enrollment when making changes to current enrollment. Zangle will prompt you before updating “Future” enrollment.
Assistant Principals and Counselors - Training
Training for Master Schedule Builders will be available over the next few months based on your needs. Please email me with the best times/days if interested.

K-8 school report cards |
As you may or may not have known, this year many schools have progressed to K-8 schools. Meaning 7-8 grade elementary schools will be switching to Marks reporting instead of standard based report cards. Expect a documentation on the process to request report cards for the upcoming reporting periods in the near future. It will be located within the support section of the Zangle ITS website. |

Zangle Rollover - New Year Active |
As part of the District’s Year End Procedures, your Future students are now Active in the new track (2011). Summer School grades have been imported into production’s academic history and last year’s enrollment has been closed out. Registrars, please recalculate grad requirements and GPA's for the new year. The Archive data will be available after September 1st. The Archived Database only contains prior year detailed attendance and grade data. All other data is maintained in production. A Registrar/Office Manager at your site has access to prior years’ students in production (excluding archived attendance and marks).
Here are some key points to remember while working on your Master Schedule.
Elementary & Secondary schools:
Put a check mark on the 'Assign Grades' box so your teachers can use the Master Schedule.
Elementary:
Check 'Is Homeroom' so your students advisor field (teacher's name) is current.
Secondary:
Check 'Post to History?' so your students semester grades are posted in their Academic History.
All K-8 schools need to verify 'Post to History?' is checked so your students have their semester grades posted in their Academic History |

Zangle Version Update 2009.2 |
On Thursday, August 20th, 2009, at 5:30 p.m.
Zangle was updated to the latest version. This update contains additional features, performance improvements, and corrects issues without affecting the client's experience. No additional training is required.
These changes include:
Student Editor:
Modified Ethnicity fields to follow new Federal Race/Ethnicity rules.
Student Schedule Editor: Added the "View schedule by period" feature.

Zangle - Summer 2009 is Now Available |
On Monday, April 13th, Zangle Summer School is now available for all secondary sites. Secondary users will now be able to start setting up there Master Schedules and start pre-enrolling new students. All 2009-2010 incoming 9th graders were rolled over to their resident high school. |

Zangle Version Update 2008.1 |
On Friday, August 8th, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. until Monday, August 11th, 2008 at 7:00 a.m. Zangle will be unavailable to make time for the update to version 2008.1. Additionally, the Year End Processing (Roll Over) will be completed as well.
This latest version contains additional features and improved functionality without requiring additional training. A complete list of changes is available for download in the release notes section of the document manager. Please report any problems via the help desk.
Year End will close out faculty access to the prior year (unless part of the dynamic faculty group in Zangle) and the future year will become the current year. All future students will become active at their future school. |

Active Student Enrollment Hist View |

' view has been added in the Student Query Writer (Enrollment→Reports). This view allows the user to generate a list of their sites Active students past enrollment history. Also included in this report: home language, home address, enrollment data, contact name, school of residence and school of choice. SAG is now Available in Zangle! |
There is a new button in the Enrollment neighborhood. Zangle users may have noticed a shift in their button layout when the School Address Grid (SAG) button was added in the Enrollment menu. The SAG button is a quick shortcut to the internet in which the user can identify what school a student resides in according to their home address. |

Zangle Version Upgraded - 2007.1 |
Zangle has been upgraded to version 2007.1. The latest version has additional features and improved functionality without requiring additional training. The release notes, located attached within the Document Manager, will assist you in making use of this new functionality.
