Pomona Peer Resources

Conference 2009

Peer Passion

"Thank you" times 1100 !!  What a great day!  Thanks for the workshop feedback and the Z-Man....Awesome!!!  Let's look forward!
There are few places on a secondary school campus where students and teachers come together to work and improve on "human" skills.  That said, there are fewer places where students are presented a formalized structure designed to help each student help other students. Peer Helping and Peer Intervention foster individual growth AND leadership skills, neither of which are directly measured by "tests".  Our Conference has consistantly networked each school's peer efforts and produced a larger learning community.  Students and adults experience something greater than the sum of each individual student and site effort.  It is learning at its best, better yet, it is fun!

    Keynote Speaker
  Gary "The Z-Man" Zelesky

For the student: "Passion changes everything especially the culture that you have created or your have let others create for you!"
For the adult professional:  "Always desire to learn something new about yourself however realize that those who will teach you are those you once taught."

Gary is a nationally known speaker, highly successful, always entertaining and carries a message all of us need to hear. It is the message we find inside ourselves, often muted, often garbled.  What is it about us that moves us to step-up, create relationships, create community?  It is passion!
Gary was the speaker at our first Conference. He stepped up and helped Pomona Peer Resources move forward on delivering the "message", so be assured...there will be a "message" and you will hear it!

Also appearing in Concert:  The PUSD Old Man Band!!!
