BOARD HIGHLIGHTS June 30, 2010
The 2010-11 budget was approved. Despite the continuing fiscal crisis, the District was very pleased to rescind over 100 layoff notices. In addition, all visual and performing arts teachers will be reinstated.
Agreements were approved with APT and PACE for the 2010-11 school year. Both APT and the District's negotiating team did an excellent job during a very difficult fiscal year. We thank them for all their hard work. We are continuing to work with CSEA and hope to have an agreement soon.
Golden Springs volunteer Scott Willingham was recognized for his outstanding journalism work with students to publish the school's own newspaper, The Golden Springs Gazette.
Cal-Poly presented the Board with a perpetual plaque honoring the Great Leaders for Great Schools Academy program. We are proud to partner with Cal Poly in preparing the next generation of school leaders.
