Transplanted players and coaches from PUSD take Mt. SAC men's soccer to second straight state championship!

Mt. SAC championship soccer teamThe Mt. SAC men's soccer team is so full of PUSD players and coaches it might as well be one of our district's teams! Led by Coach Juan Sanchez (Garey High, 1989), the Mounties defeated College of the Canyons Dec. 5. Coach Sanchez, who formerly taught at Diamond Ranch High School and led the boys soccer team there to a CIF championship, is backed up by Assistant Coach Ray Ramirez (teacher at Garey High, formerly DRHS soccer coach); Assistant Coach Frank Bustos (Garey High alumnus, teacher at Palomares Academy of Health Sciences); Assistant Coach Jerry Martinez (DRHS alumnus); and players Steve Torres (Ganesha High alum); Jimmy Torres (Ganesha High alum); Hector Salazar (Ganesha High alum); Eric Flores (Garey High alum); Alberto Verduzco (Garey High alum); and Roger Flores (DRHS alum). Congratulations to PUSD's transplanted two-time championship soccer team over in Walnut!
