Thanks to grant funding awarded to the district, a select group of PUSD teachers were recently given the opportunity to participate in a training conducted by Promoting Energy Action and Knowledge (PEAK) to learn more about energy conservation. PEAK, a comprehensive standards-based educational program, is designed to empower elementary and middle school students with the knowledge to manage energy use in their homes, schools and communities.
Teachers had the chance to participate in group lab activities, demonstrations, software tours, and more. Through this hands-on learning, teachers will now be able to teach and inspire their students to pursue green careers and motivate themselves and others to take action to create a more sustainable world.
