Washington Elementary recently participated in Olive Garden's Pasta for Pennies, a national fundraising program in partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and raised more than $4,000.
The top fundraising class at the school received a pasta party from their local Olive Garden restaurant last week.
Washington school chose a three-week period when students could fill collection jars in their classrooms with spare change.
Classrooms that raised $100-$199 received a bronze pennant, those who raised $200-$299 received a silver pennant, and classroom collections of $300 or more got a Gold Pennant. In addition, students who raised $50 or more individually will be entered into a drawing to win prizes like tickets to local attractions. All students in the school will be eligible to win prizes through a random drawing on June 1st.
Thanks, Washington students and staff, for supporting the LLS mission to cure blood cancers and improve the lives of patients and their families.
