"The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think-rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with the thoughts of others."

James Beattle

Pomona Peer Resources is a dedicated effort to establish, enhance and coordinate peer helping. These efforts support school safety, climate and the enhancement of school culture. Organized in April of 1999, Pomona Peer Resources draws from rich PUSD peer intervention history. PUSD has utilized peer intervention for over twenty years. Pomona Peer Resources is part of a comprehensive [academic, social, and personal] approach to peer intervention. We provide training in all aspects of peer helping and conflict mediation. We sponsor training and networking opportunities designed to foster coordinated effort in meeting the diverse needs of our students. Our Annual Conference is second to none in its effort to bring to Peer Helpers effective training and networking. PPR works with the secondary schools and over twenty individual peer intervention programs. We have numerous "community based" activities. Our programs are diverse, unique, and inclusive. Please visit the various pages of this website.

Presently, Pomona Peer Resources networks 5 High School Advisors, 5 Middle School Advisors and many District and Community Allies. The group is an "action group" and their networking is valuable to the evolution of effective peer intervention programs at the school sites. A rich and an ever-expanding group of district and community agencies participate in this process.
