Alcott Elementary - Home of the Eagles and High Academic Achievers

Principal's Message
Welcome back to a new school year!  We at Alcott are dedicated to having our students reach their potential as Academic Achievers.

I want to thank the parents and the community, in advance, for all of their support and for assisting us with the education of the children here at Alcott.  The wonderful teachers and support staff truly appreciate your help and want to extend our heart felt thanks.

Please feel free to stop by at any time and visit this outstanding school where we strive to meet the needs of every student, in every classroom, every day. It is because of you that we are successful.
Respectfully,

Shirley E. Martinez, Principal  E-Mail the Principal

Mission Statement

Alcott Elementary School will implement a comprehensive academic school plan whereby every student will be given the opportunity to learn and master those skills needed to meet and exceed grade level standards with the expectancy of passing the High School Exit Exam.

Vision Statement

Alcott Elementary School, member of Pomona Unified School District's Cluster II, will develop in all students the abilities needed to successfully participate in a society which reflects diverse cultures, and to become socially responsible, self-empowered, global thinkers, achievers and life long learners.

API - Update

We are proud to announce that again this year our Academic Performance Index has risen.  Our target for the 2010-2011 school year was a 5 point gain.  We actually raised our API by 20 points.  Our new API is 744 and our expected gain for the school year 2011-2012 is again 5 points.  We are confident that we will exceed this expectation once again this year.

Thank you to the parents, teachers and students!

The computer lab at the Alcott Annex is state of the art and offers students  access to information for research and learning skills for the 21st Century.
